THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Holy Scriptures (Holy Bible) were supernaturally inspired and written by God-appointed men; and therefore is infallible in its entirety; meaning it is sufficient for all time, and remains the only complete and final revelation of God’s will to man; it is the true focus of Christian meeting and the supreme standard by which all human conducts, creeds, and opinions should be tried.
1. By “The Holy Bible” we mean the collection of sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation, as originally written, does not only contain and convey the Word of God, but IS the very Word of God.
2. By “inspired'' we mean that the books of the Bible were written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, in such a definite way that their writings were supernaturally and verbally inspired by God and free from error, as no others’ writings have been or ever will be inspired.

THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God. An infinite, intelligent Spirit Who is the Creator and Supreme Ruler and Sustainer of heaven and earth. Inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all honor, glory, praise, and love. This one true and living God exists as a Triune God (the Godhead). He is ONE God, yet exists as three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; all Persons are fully equal in divine perfection deity, and execute distinct and separate but harmonious offices in the marvelous work of redemption.

THE DEVIL (SATAN)
We believe that Satan was once a holy angel who enjoyed heavenly honors, but due to pride and selfish ambition to be like the Most High God, he fell in rebellion, drawing with him a host of angels; that he is now the destructive prince of the power of the air, and the detestable, unholy god of this world. We view him to be the great tempter of man; the solemn enemy of God, the accuser of the saints of God, and the author of all the powers of darkness. However, due to a final defeat by the hands of God the Son, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, he has his place of eternal judgment in the lake of fire, which has been prepared for him and his fallen angels.

CREATION
We believe in the creation account according to the book of Genesis; that it is to be accepted literally, and not figuratively or metaphorically; that man was created in God’s own image (imago dei) and after His own likeness; that the creation of man was not a matter of transition from one species to another as evolution theory supposes, or even a development of interminable time periods from a lower to a higher form of species; all animal and plant life was created directly by God. As the Scriptures declare, through God all things were made; without Him nothing would have been created.

THE FALL OF MAN
We believe that man was created as sinless and innocent and enjoyed perfect fellowship with God, but by exercising choice, acted in transgression and fell from his sinless state. As Adam being the federal head of all mankind, the consequence of his choice has caused all man to now be under just condemnation as sinners, not by constraint but by choice; in their fallen state they are at enmity with God, and are children of wrath.

THE VIRGIN BIRTH
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, in a miraculous manner as the Spirit overshadowed the womb of Mary; born of Mary, a virgin, as no other man was ever born or can ever be born, and that He is both the Son of God, and God, the Son.

THE ATONEMENT
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace; through the mediation of the Son of God; Who appointed by the Father, emptied Himself and took upon the nature of man, yet was without sin, honoring the Divine law and fulfilling all righteousness by His personal obedience and by His death made a full and substitutionary atonement for our sins; His substitutionary atonement was His voluntary sacrifice for and on behalf of the sinner, in the sinner’s place; the just dying for the unjust, Christ Jesus, bearing our sins in His body on a tree; after being raised by the power of God, proving His death was a pleasing sacrifice, He is now enthroned in heaven seated at the right hand of the Father in glory, and as our High Priest is in every way qualified to be a suitable, compassionate, and all sufficient Savior.

REGENERATION
We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again; the new birth in Christ is the new creation; the new birth is instantaneous and not a process like the sanctification of a sinner made new in Christ is. The one who was once dead in trespasses and sins, in the new birth, is made a partaker of God’s divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God; the new creation is brought about in a way that is beyond our full comprehension, not by any means of the world, or the will of man, but wholly and solely by the power of the Holy Spirit according to the truth of God, so as to affirm and secure our voluntary obedience to the Gospel; that the evidence of this new creation is seen in the godly fruit of repentance, faith, and the character of Christ increasing in the life.

JUSTIFICATION
We believe that the glorious blessing of the Gospel which Christ secures to those who believe in Him is justification; that justification includes a pardon of sin and the right to eternal life based on righteousness; this righteousness is not one of our own doing for there are no works that man can perform to justify themselves before the Holy God, but this righteousness is the righteousness of Christ Jesus that is imputed to us by faith in the Redeemer’s Blood.

REPENTANCE AND FAITH
We believe that repentance and faith are solemn obligations, and inseparable forms of grace, brought forth in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God in the new birth; with deep and intense conviction of our guilt, desperation, helplessness, and of the way of salvation in Christ, we abandon ourselves and turn to God with genuine contrition, brokenness, confession and petition for His mercy; and seeking the Lord for a heart that is grieved over sin, and yearns for obedience in our lives.

THE CHURCH
We believe that a Church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; exercising gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word; that it’s ordained officers are pastors (elders) and deacons, whose qualifications and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures; that the primary mission of the Church is found within the Great Commission; first, to make disciples; second, to build up the church; third, to teach and instruct in the ways of righteousness and truth; we hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; and that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit; that it is Scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the Gospel; on all matters of policy, of government, of discipline, of benevolence, the will of the local church, according to and governed by the Scriptures, is final.

BAPTISM AND COMMUNION
We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer: in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, with the authority of the local church, to show forth as a proclamation and emblem of our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ Jesus; although baptism in and of itself does not merit salvation, our Lord clearly set the example by being baptized Himself, but also commands His followers to hold fast to this sacrament; we believe that members of the Church, during the times of gathering, and by the sacred use of the bread and the cup are to commemorate together the dying love of Jesus; proceeded always by a broken and contrite heart and self examination so as not to partake of the Meal in an unworthy manner; this second sacrament is also to be observed only by those who have truly and fully identified themselves with Christ in faith, as this Meal is for members of the Church.

THE PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS
We believe that true believers, saved with genuine faith, are those who endure to the end; that the evidence of their perseverance is the great mark of Christ upon their lives that distinguishes between counterfeit professors; that the Providence of God is upon their lives, leading them, guiding them, protecting and preserving them, and ultimately it is the power of God through faith that keeps them in salvation unto the great and marvelous day of Redemption.

THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED
We believe there is a radial and distinct difference between the righteous and the wicked; that only those born of the Spirit and of saving faith are justified and declared as righteous in Jesus Christ, and sanctified by the Spirit; while the unbelief and lack of repentance is found in the wicked, who still under the curse of their sin, are still at enmity with God; this distinction holds men both in this life and after death; that the righteous will be raised with Christ to an everlasting, blessed union in heaven, and the wicked will be raised to an everlasting, conscious torment in the punishment for their sin and rejection of Christ as their Mediator.

CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We believe that the civil government has been divinely appointed by God for the well being, interest, and good order of human society; government officials are to be prayed for, in good conscience are to be honored and obeyed, except only when ordered to do that which is in disobedience to God and His Word, who is over all governments, kings, and rulers, and is the Sovereign Ruler of all, and the coming King of the earth.

THE RESURRECTION AND RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe in and accept the sacred Scriptures upon these subjects at their face and full value. Of the Resurrection, we believe that Christ rose bodily “ The third day according to the Scriptures;” that He ascended “ to the right hand of the throne of God” that He alone is our “ merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God;” “ that this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven”—bodily, personally and visibly; that the “ dead in Christ shall rise first.” That the living saints “ shall all be changed in moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump;” “that the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His Father David;” and that “Christ shall reign a thousand years in righteousness until He hath put all enemies under His feet.”

GENDER, SEXUALITY, MARRIAGE, AND CHRISTIAN LOVE
We believe that God wonderfully and fearfully created (creates), immutably, each person as male and female. These two distinct roles, only and truly, complementary roles together reflect the image of God. To reject one’s biological gender is to reject the creation of God and the purpose of God for that person’s gender and denial and affront to the glory of Christ in His creation for that person.
Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-16; 1 Corinthians 11:12; Matthew 19:4
We believe that God created human sexuality as an expression of love and unity between ONLY a biological man and a biological woman, and within the boundaries of a covenant of marriage. We believe that any heterosexual sexual activity outside of the covenant of marriage (i.e. fornication, adultery), any homosexual activity, and any other form of sexual immorality (i.e. bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography) is an abomination to the Lord. These acts are direct results of sin, are utterly unnatural, deserving of God’s righteous judgment, and exclude one from entering the Kingdom of God if continually practiced and not genuinely repented of. It has to be said that we believe the Blood of Jesus is sufficient to cover these sins, and His atonement can and does deliver and change the heart that is bound in these sexual acts.

We believe there is only one true meaning of the term “marriage:” the covenantal union of one biological man with one biological woman that is single, exclusive, and permanent; marriage also displays God’s redemptive work for His Church (Bride). Any attempts at “marriage” outside of this definition are strictly and clearly condemned by the Scriptures. Marriage is God’s design and as with the rest of Creation, He sets the standard and order.

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, gentleness, respect, and dignity for the sake of the Gospel. We believe that the most loving thing one can do is share the truth of the Scriptures about sinful behavior in hopes that repentance would come with a knowledge of the truth. Any behavior or treatment opposite of this toward an individual is to be repudiated. It is not in accordance with the Scriptures, or the message of the Gospel, nor the doctrines that are held by Breathe Back Ministries. Not only so, but it clearly goes against the two greatest commandments given to us by Christ: love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
